Course Aim
The STA Program for Assistants provides Education Support Officers with the training needed to deliver therapy programs as Speech Therapy Assistants.
Course Outline
- An overview of the STA Program
- A basic understanding of speech sounds, receptive and expressive language, phonological awareness and social communication skills
- The use of cueing strategies and other techniques to support skill development
- Guided practice in the delivery of therapy programs
- Practice recording student progress using Therapy Outcome Measures
