Phonological Awareness and SPAT - R

Phonological awareness skills are the best predictor of later reading and writing success. Research has shown that early identification of students experiencing difficulties with phonological awareness is important in achieving better literacy outcomes. The Sutherland Phonological Awareness Test - Revised is widely used and is effective in identifying students who are at risk for literacy difficulties. The test is designed for use with students in their first four years of school.

Course Aim

Assessment and Classroom Planning with SPAT - R demonstrates how to administer and score the SPAT-R assessment, interpret the results and plan activities to support phonological awareness development in the classroom.

$140 per person. Each school must purchase their own copy of the SPAT - R.
