Course Aim

The STA Program for Assistants provides Education Support Officers with the training needed to deliver therapy programs as Speech Therapy Assistants.

Course Outline

• An overview of the STA Program
• A basic understanding of speech sounds, receptive and expressive language, phonological awareness and social communication skills
• The use of cueing strategies and other techniques to support skill development
• Guided practice in the delivery of therapy programs
• Practice recording student progress using Therapy Outcome Measures
